Steadyfolio

Your plan, your numbers, no hype.

Steadyfolio is a calm tracker for people who invest on purpose. Set a monthly plan, log what you really put in, and read up on UK, US and Nigerian markets with the reasoning shown.

A personal finance tracker, not financial advice. Works in any currency.

  • Yahoo Finance
  • Google Finance
  • Nasdaq.com
  • Nigerian Exchange

Four free price sources. No API keys.

Plan chartA line chart of what a monthly plan could grow to, with a cautious and an optimistic range.

Illustration only. Growth is an assumption you choose, not a forecast. The amber line is made-up sample entries to show how "you against your plan" looks in the app.

Pick the one that sounds like you.

"I changed one cell and now nothing adds up."

One place for the plan, the log and the result

  • Type a plan once: monthly amount, years, growth.
  • Log what you actually put in each month. The app keeps count.
  • Every dashboard figure says where it came from: typed by you, or worked out by the app.
  • Saves automatically, with a Save button and a warning if you try to leave with unsaved changes.

How it works

  1. Set the plan

Pick a monthly amount, a number of years and a growth rate you are comfortable assuming. Split it across your holdings. Type a name like "apple" and the symbol fills in.

  2. Log each month

Type what you put in and what the account shows. Pull values from Trading 212 or Alpaca if you connect a read-only key, or paste them.

  3. Compare and review

See plan against reality, then read Research and run Ideas screens on live prices. Ask the chat about whatever is on screen.

The app itself

What you get after you log in. Sample numbers.

The Steadyfolio dashboard on a computer: a headline sentence comparing your app value with the plan, key figures, and charts of your plan against your entries by month and by year. The same dashboard on a phone, with the figures stacked in one column.

Research: the reading, already organised

One page per market. Every claim comes with where it came from, and where it can fail.

Figures inside the app carry a date. Refresh them with Claude, then check the source.

    Ideas: screens that explain themselves

Choose a rule and a market. The list reorders, and each row says why. These are sample names and numbers.

The "Live vs research" column is where today's price sits against the research snapshot. A flag means: look again before you trust the old write-up.

    Questions

    Is this financial advice?

No. It is a personal finance tracker. Ideas shows how simple rules rank things and why. It never tells you to buy or sell.

What else can it do besides the plan and log?

Insights shows your real yearly return against an index, a range of possible futures with crash tests, whether you are still on your wanted mix, what a new holding would do to your spread, expected dividend income and a rough tax estimate. You can also import trades from your broker's CSV file, see your money in two currencies, and make a read-only link for an accountant.

    Is my data private?

Yes. Each account's figures are kept apart and only your signed-in session can read them. The owner can see how many people have accounts and how many are around, plus each email and join date, but never your holdings or amounts. There is no advertising and no analytics. You can delete your account and everything in it from Settings.

    What does it cost?

Nothing. There are no fees and no card details. If you add your own Claude key for the chat and research refresh, Anthropic bills the credit on your own account.

    Which markets does it cover?

UK, US and Nigeria for research, tax tables and screens. Live prices cover most stocks and funds on Yahoo Finance and Google Finance, US stocks on Nasdaq.com, and Nigerian shares on the Nigerian Exchange.

    Does it need API keys?

No price source needs one. Only the optional Trading 212 or Alpaca link uses a read-only key that you create.

    Where is my data kept?

Saved securely with your account so it follows you across devices. See the privacy notice for exactly what is stored.

Can I use my own currency?

Yes. Pick any symbol. The app does not convert or assume one.
